Urban Nocturnes is excited to partnering once again with Erik Goldstrom and the folks at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral for their week long Haydn Festival in April 2026. In this concert, Urban Nocturnes will explore the range of Haydn's chamber music, performing select movements from works for strings, piano and winds. With the 68 string quartets composed over the course of his career, Franz Josef Haydn established the combination of 2 violins, viola and cello as an essential genre and opened the door to many brilliant composers who would build on the foundation he established and the originality he exemplified. While he has come to be called the "Father of the String Quartet," Haydn also composed numerous string trios, piano trios, and flute chamber music. Stay tuned for more information!
